Bad Ischl

All year round destination for nature lovers

Gosau is the only closed high valley in the Salzkammergut.

At almost 800 m above sea level, framed by the striking peaks of the Gosaukamm, the small community can be described as an alternative to urban stress culture. At the end of the valley, the Dachstein massif rises impressively. A postcard idyll and the central part of the Unesco World Heritage region of the Salzkammergut.

Spring, summer and autumn...

Characterized by rural alpine farming, old mule tracks, hiking trails and forest roads run through the dense high forests up to the glacier region of the Dachstein massif. An inexhaustible reservoir of great hikes and bike tours in the nature-protected border triangle of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria. It's not just the shady forests and the Gosau lakes that promise cooling off in summer temperatures, but also the many freely accessible lakes in the Salzkammergut.
